Dating from the 17th century, the cottage is the oldest house in the town and, along with churches, one of the oldest buildings in the area.
The cottage forms a complete block and it is located in the center of Valdemeca (Cuenca, Spain). It has a 454 m2 surface divided into: plan (223 m2) and yard (231 m2).
The house was property of a well-off family of the town. It is divided into three parts: the ground floor, which was a granary used to store grain after the harvest; the outer part, the yard, which was used as shed and it also had mangers to feed beasts of burden and also the animals that were going to be eaten (there were also places to keep the cart and the farming implements);and the upper floor, which was the accomodation where the family and its servants lived.
After three hard years of intense restoration, the result worths the effort. As we first designed, the original architectural structure has been kept (stone walls with a width up to 95cm, wood beams, doors and furniture, secret passages…) and it is combined with the best habitability comforts that you can find nowadays (induction hobs, LCD televisions, memory foam mattresses, nordic quilts, hydromassage cabin, jacuzzi…). This balance allows us to offer the most pleasant stay to our guests.
Since the cottage is very big, it has been divided into two independent accomodations that can be rented separately or at the same time.
